Etsy Finds: Violet Bella
Laura at Violet Bella creates one of the coziest havens on the internet. Her blog follows her journey through life's ups and downs and is filled with creativity and soulful insight. I really enjoy her writing and also her whimsical creations!
Check out her shop on Etsy! :)

Tiki Updates.
A while ago I posted a picture of this sign in the park soliciting ideas for a sculpture being carved out of a dead tree:

The other day I happened to be in the same park (Swami's Park by the sea...it's beautiful) and was happy to see that the carving had been completed! Ta-da!

The Wheatfield
I am a huge fan of thewheatfield on Etsy. Katie Daisy is the artist behind these bright and cheerful works. These are adorable! Love.

I'm loving her "states" series. She features the states of my life!
I was born deep in the heart of Texas...

...and raised in beautiful North Carolina...

...and relocated to sunny California!

A work in progress.
I designed and am currently painting a mandala design for my roomie. She asked me to make a mandala oh, about a year ago, and I'm finally getting around to it! I am having lots of fun with it. Painting the circular patterns is very theraputic. Perhaps I should paint a mandala every week!

Mural Time!
I just finished up a jungle themed mural for a friend's daughter's bedroom. Little Peanut (her adorable nickname) is two years old and as far as I can tell, a happy client! When asked if she liked the mural, she shouted "yes!" When asked pretty much anything at all, she shouted "yes!" I'm gonna take it as she liked it, though. :)
The mural ended up taking me about thirteen hours to complete in total. I wasn't expecting it to take that long, but had never painted anything this big before. It covers an 8 ft. by 8 ft. space. My main goal was to make these animals super happy, friendly, and endearing to young children. In addition to Peanut, they have another little one on the way, too. I hope that these characters can spark their imaginations and become their daily jungle friends.
I would love to do more murals! I am so excited for this new beginning. Bring on the projects!

Happy Sunday!
I spent a lot of my day at Pulse Art Gallery. The art on display right now is from several different artists, all graduates of Art Pulse's Mentor Program. The theme for the works is "father." I like spending a few hours in the gallery alone. Collecting my thoughts and soaking in the creativity.
Threadless Love
All of these designs are from Threadless, an awesome site that allows you to purchase amazing designs on hoodies, t-shirts, and totes. Some designs are cute, some funny, some strange, and some beautiful. Here are some that I would label "hippie-ish/beautiful." :)
